    • CLEANING TECHNOLOGY
      • High Pressure

Pressure is necessary when removing baked on, difficult soils. Many times, chemistry is not enough to clean these very dirty parts.

        Immersion

Immersion or dip cleaning is typically utilized in low production, batch processes. Agitation is generally employed with the chemistry.

        Spray

This process employs the use of a pump and piping that transfers chemical solutions from a tank to a set of risers inside of the wash cabinet.

        Ultrasonic

Ultrasonic cleaning utilizes sound waves to cavitate a wash solution which appears to create tiny bubbles within the wash solution.

  • SYSTEMS
    • Batch Systems

The most cost-efficient entry into the finishing market is with a batch system.

      Chain-on-Edge Systems

Chain-on-edge or spindle conveyor systems utilize a chain on the floor with posts.

      Small Parts Systems

Taking the small footprint required for infrared heating to the extreme.

      Flow-Thru Systems

Northern IL CCAI

September 3, 2019 by Josh Gilmore

Join the CCAI Northern IL Chapter for 2 great presentations. The first presentation will be on Lean Manufacturing by Marty Sawyer from Trimac Industrial Systems. Although the goal of Lean Manufacturing is to reduce costs and speed-up production with less waste, it is never as easy as it seems. Learn about the most innovative ideas for bringing Lean in the design and daily processes of your paint and coating operations. Marty will share ideas on how to reduce your Time on the Line, operating costs and WIP.

Joe Smith from Houghton International will give a presentation about a proven approach combining innovative chemistry with related equipment to allow users to eliminate all process discharge from their spray washers. A common problem for manufacturers is the expense and effluent discharge liabilities of the process water. Joe will also be discussing two case studies including both powder coating and electrocoat applications.

Biographies: Marty Sawyer is the CEO and owner of Trimac Industrial Systems, a heating and cleaning technologies company. Marty has been a driving force behind the education and promotion of the cost, quality and environmental benefits for the use of infrared for process heating. Marty is also the President of the Central States Chapter of CCAI and an active member of CCAI.

Joe Smith is a Surface Finishing Specialist for Houghton International Surface Finishing division. Joe specializes paint pre-treatment and specialty cleaning chemistry and processes. He as a BS in Chemistry from Illinois State University.

Northern OH CCAI

August 19, 2019 by Josh Gilmore

Join the CCAI Northern Ohio Chapter for a presentation on Lean Improvements in Powder Coatings.

The goal of Lean manufacturing improvements in powder coating operations is to reduce costs and speed operations.  This is easier said than done.  Driving the principals of Lean Manufacturing into your powder coating operation has challenges due to the restriction from batch operations or color changes in flow-through.  This talk to designed to discuss techniques to reduce waste in your operation through downtime management, line staging, equipment design, material handling, and other processing techniques. You will leave with ideas of how to reduce your Time on the Line, operating costs and WIP.

Presenter:  Marty Sawyer, CEO and owner of Trimac Industrial Systems, LLC and Protherm LLC.   Trimac manufactures ovens, washers and systems and is the only company in North America who manufactures the entire range of process heating – convection, gas catalytic under the Gas-Cat brand, and electric infrared under the Protherm brand for both flow through and batch operations.  Trimac has designed many solutions to incorporate Lean into coating applications and since Trimac is on their own Lean journey, Marty will talk about lessons learned and best practices to help bring Lean into more coating operations.

Date:  Thursday, September 12

Time:  5:00 – 8:00 PM

Location: Winking Lizard Tavern, 25380 Miles Rd., Bedford Heights, OH 44146
